Would you like to walk your dog somewhere different? Perhaps you'd like a break from your normal walking location or would simply like a change in scenery? Do you & your dog like to explore different locations?
In no particular order here's three of my favourite dog walking locations in Mildura.
King's Billabong
Whilst the photo above shows bike riding with a dog, King's Billabong is a fantastic location to walk your dog (or ride!). There is seemingly endless tracks for your pup and you to enjoy; some wide enough to drive on others so tight they are only one person wide. You can walk along the Billabong itself, head to Ducksfoot Lagoon which has bird's hides if you'd like to enjoy a spot of bird watching, or the Murray River. You will find bench seats placed along some of the tracks, providing you & your pup with a nice resting place if needed. Some bench seats also have a table so you could enjoy a picnic with your pup.
Riverfront walk to Apex Park
This walk can be as long or short as you'd like. And it can start from either the area along the Mildura Riverfront itself or from Apex Park. A lot of the paths are hard packed (bluestone crusher dust perhaps?) which is great, especially if you have an older pup who is less sure on their feet. It can be a busy location - especially on a weekend morning, so if your pup struggles to behave with the distraction of other dogs around keep that in mind.
The bonus of the Riverfront is the cafes. They are all dog friendly, so you & your pup will be able to enjoy time relaxing as well as walking.
Merbein Common
With similar vibes to King's Billabong, Merbein Common is another great bush location. It is quite possibly the quiestest of the locations here, which is fantastic if your pup needs to practice walking in a new area without human & dog distractions.
These are only three locations to take your pup on an exploration in Mildura but I think they are the prettiest of options. Your pup will love the bush walks because of the animal life - there is always something new or different to smell. I'm sure you'll enjoy them too - dont be surprised if you find yourself taking lots of photos on your phone :)
Let me know if you & your pup explore one or all of these locations.
